Wage: $34.62 hourly for minimum 30 hours a week
Job Summary:
Alpine Pub and Grill is looking for an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team and ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food quality, kitchen efficiency, and team leadership. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing inventory, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations & Food Quality
• Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring timely and high-quality food service.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation, portion control, and presentation.
• Ensure all food meets quality and safety standards before leaving the kitchen.
Staff Management & Leadership
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and
productive work environment.
• Provide leadership, motivation, and coaching to the team.
• Ensure proper communication between kitchen and front-of-house staff for
smooth service.
Inventory & Cost Control
• Monitor food costs and work to minimize waste while maximizing efficiency. •
• Order and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock without over-purchasing.
• Track and control kitchen expenses, staying within budget while maintaining quality.
Health, Safety & Sanitation
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Conduct regular kitchen inspections and address any safety or sanitation concerns.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operational.
Menu Development & Innovation
• Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
• Adjust recipes and menu offerings based on customer feedback and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay updated on food trends to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in a pub, grill, or casual dining environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent cooking skills with knowledge of kitchen best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food industry.
• Experience in cost control and inventory management.
• Culinary certification is a plus but not required.
